Summer 2020

I have been busy during this lockdown learning a new technique with oil and cold wax. This method lends itself to my style keeping my work loose and spontaneous. The landscape of Norfolk with its colours and tones are a perfect stage. Experimenting with different mediums stretching the qualities of oils to its limits adding different materials that creates rich textures and tones. I am also enjoying the way the paintings are leaning towards abstraction creating a  suggestion of form an ambiguity of the land or sea,  letting the essence of a place come through.
